The National Weather Service warns that an arctic air mass will bring dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills across Florida starting this evening through Friday, prompting multiple cold and freeze alerts statewide. An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for the western Panhandle, including Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa Counties, where wind chills could fall to near 10°F. A Hard Freeze Warning is active across portions of North Florida, with overnight temperatures expected to drop between 21°F and 26°F. A Freeze Warning has been issued for parts of Central Florida, including Lake, Volusia, Marion, and Sumter Counties, where temperatures may fall into the upper 20s and low 30s. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for much of Central and Southwest Florida, where wind chills may dip into the 20s.
